They monitor activities, enforce rules and safety protocols, and provide assistance to individuals in danger. Lifeguards are trained to respond quickly and effectively to water emergencies, perform lifesaving procedures, and administer first aid or CPR as needed. They also maintain the cleanliness of their work area and sometimes conduct water safety courses for members of the public.
To be effective, a Lifeguard needs strong swimming skills, excellent physical fitness, and a keen awareness of their surroundings.
