Job Description

The Athletics Department at the University of Southern Maine is seeking staff for their summer sports camp program.

We are seeking energetic camp staff to provide a safe and memorable experience for our campers. The staff will be responsible for coaching/teaching the campers in the chosen sport. The ideal candidate will be an excellent multitasker with a genuine passion for working with, and empowering, young campers. Applicants should be patient, fun-loving and confident in their ability to motivate and assist campers.

Summer Camp Staff responsibilities and duties:

+ Working under the camp director you will perform various duties throughout the week of camp involving teaching the fundamentals of the sport to campers.

+ Four-day camp located on the Gorham Campus

+ Camp hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm, with some additional hours for pre-camp meetings and post-camp wrap up.

Summer Sports Camp Programs:

+ Boys SWISH Basketball: June 23 26th

+ Coed Soccer Camp: June 23 26th

+ Track: June 30 July 2nd

+ Softball: July 7 11th

+ Girls SWISH Basketball: July 14 17th

+ Baseball: July 21 24th

+ Boys Volleyball: July 21 24th

+ Coed Soccer: July 28 31st

+ Volleyball: July 28 31st

Required Qualifications:

+ Must know the rules and fundamental techniques of playing and teaching the sport.

+ Current and former high school/college athletes and current and former coaches preferred.
